March Maid Madness

As the March Madness season is wrapping up, we here at the Lavender Maid want to share with you our bracket. Instead of basketball, though, our bracket’s goal was to determine the best and most effective cleaning tool. On our Instagram story, we asked our followers and viewers to vote daily on which cleaning supply worked best for them. Here are some highlights from the plays and our final results!

Starting off strong, we had two of the best floor tools, the Swiffer and the Mop. Both of these tools are perfect for achieving shiny, new floors. Mops are more detailed with their bucket accessories, but Swiffers are much lighter, more portable, and more efficient. Only one of these supplies, however, can take home the gold. With a whopping 68%, the Mop took the Swiffer.

Our next round was all about the wiping tools as we had Kitchen/Tea Towels up against Paper towels. Kitchen Towels are reusable and efficient, but there’s just something about the easy cleanup from the Paper Towels. With that, the results came in, with Paper Towels coming in strong.

Day three was a very close call between Clorox Wipes and Clorox Spray. The wipes are satisfying, well-ordered, and disposable. Loyal Paper Towel voters, however, kept the trend with Clorox Spray; after all, these utensils go hand in hand. Coming up in the lead just by one vote, we had Clorox Wipes wipe the floor with Clorox Spray. 

On the trend of sprays, our next category follows us to Pledge and Windex. Both of these cleaners are perfect for coffee tables, but it all depends on whether our voters have a wooden table or a glass one. Of course, Windex is pleasantly functional for windows and Pledge for other wooden furniture. Pledge, however, was completely outvoted in a landslide by Windex.

Picking up the pace now in the semifinals, we saw again the Mop and its partner, the Bucket, versus Windex and Multipurpose Cleaner. The winner was Windex and Multipurpose Cleaner, who had 70% of the voters.

Moving on to the second-to-last round, we have Clorox Wipes against the Paper Towels and Cleaners. With another close call, by one vote, our winner was Clorox Wipes. Seems like efficiency is more important to our voters than flare.

In our March Maid Madness final round, we had Windex and Multipurpose cleaning pitted against the Clorox Wipes. The tension was high as everyone anxiously awaited the scores and winners. The final votes resulted in our winner being Clorox wipes, with scores of 67% and 33%.
